Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston) who was an executive director for national operations
at Mary Kay, and Freddie Wright an executive in the field of pharmaceuticals.
She was born in San Diego, California. She began her career as a model in 1980
aged 14 and was a model in Paris and Japan. After graduation from high school,
she became an actor. She was offered a part on the soap opera Santa Barbara
(1984), for which she was nominated three times for an Daytime Emmy. Dane Witherspoon
was her fellow cast member, and she got married to her in 1986. She starred as
the princess bride (1987) in the title role. After leaving the cast in Santa
Barbara, she got the starring role in Denial (1990) along with Jason Patric.
She was in State of Grace (1990) at the time she met Sean Penn. They had two
daughters: Dylan Frances and a son Hopper Jack. Robin was back in Hollywood
with Tara in one of the most memorable roles in her career, after taking a
break. She was stunning and flawless. Then, she appeared in Toys (1992) in the
film Toys (1992) alongside Robin Williams. She gave an amazing performance.
Wright played the role of Jenny in the blockbuster hit Forrest Gump (1994),
starring with Tom Hanks. She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her
role in the film as Jenny. She was given a small role in The Crossing Guard
(1995) with Jack Nicholson. After a string of rejections, she was offered the
lead part in MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). It was directed and written by Pen
Densham and featured Morgan Freeman, Stockard Channing, and Morgan Freeman.
Later, she appeared in Erin Dignam's Loved (1997) along with William Hurt.
