Rashida Jones
Rashida Jones was born in Los Angeles,
California to Quincy Jones, a media producer and mogul. Alongside Peggy Lipton,
Rashida is the younger sister of actress Peggy Lipton and Quincy Jones. Kidada
Jones is her elder sibling. Five half-siblings are born through other
relationships with her father. Her father is African American and her mother is
Ashkenazi Jewish (a descendant emigrants of Russia and Latvia). Rashida was
raised in Reform Judaism. She grew up in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California.
Jones declared that her mixed race parents were not accepted by the general
public until the 1970s. Jones began her acting debut professionally with The
Last Don in 1997 an animated mini-series, which was influenced by Mario Puzo.
In 1997, Rashida graduated from Harvard University. He attended the Buckley
School in Sherman Oaks, California. She was awarded the Most Likely to Succeed
Award. Arabic (O+ O'UO-O(c) the name she chose) signifies "Major,"
adult, mature, wise, or elder. In People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful
People" list. (USA2002) Half-sister of Quincy Jones III and Jolie Jones.

Her romantic relationships include Josh Hartnett and Charlie Hunnam. The singer
was featured in an ode to Tupac Shakur who was engaged to her sister, Kidada
Jones. Kidada as well as Rashida's brother Quincy Jones III composed the song.
Quincy Jones III, their father, was also featured at the beginning of the song,
reciting Shakur's lines "Starry Night". The poem was the inspiration
behind the title of the song. The father of Rashida, who is African-American,
also has less significant amount of English, Scottish and Welsh roots (some people
who are ancestors to Rashida's African family are from the Tikar people in
Cameroon). Rashida is Ashkenazi Jewish, of Russian Jewish and Latvian Jewish
descent. Her paternal grandparents, who both came from South Carolina, and
Mississippi are her paternal grandparents. Her maternal grandfather was born in
New York and her maternal grandmother was of Eastern European Jewish descent,
was born in Dublin, Ireland. She has been playing three characters known as
"Karen" since 2009 on the cult TV comedy show Freaks and Geeks
(1999), Stella (2006), and The Office (2005).
